1966 Rover 2000

The Rover P6 Saloon 4-Door was produced from 1963 – 1977 in Solihull, West Midlands England. Voted, European car of the year and winner of industry awards for safety. These very advanced vehicles were at the forefront of vehicle technology and were designed so they appeal to a young executive crowd with a sporty style, performance, handling along with ride and safety features. The advanced deDion tube suspension at the rear was unique as the “Tube” was in two parts enabling it to rotate giving the quality of independent rear suspension. Additional features include four-wheel disc brakes (in-board on rear), fully-synchromesh transmission and a full unibody construction inspired by the Citroen DS. A 2.0 Litre Overhead valve straight-4 cylinder engine produced approximately 109 horsepower and was mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox sitting atop a 103 inch wheel base and weighing in at only 2,810 pounds.

This one owner California car was sold new on March 10, 1966 at Peter Sartori Motors in Pasadena and has traveled only 87,068 miles under the care of an engineer.
