1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL “Pagoda”
The W 113 Roadster was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show and was one of the finest cars to come from the Stuttgart firm. Timeless and elegant styling with performance and handling are just a few points that make these solid collectibles and a privilege to drive.
Equipped with a 2.8 Liter, 180hp overhead-cam inline-six-cylinder engine with Bosch multi-port fuel injection and a four-speed automatic transmission. Other features include aluminum body panels for weight reduction, monocoque (unibody) construction, excellent suspension with double wishbones and a stabilizing bar up front and a swing axle with radius arms and compensating spring in the rear, power assisted steering, powerful four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, Pagoda removable hardtop, disappearing soft top, clock and radio.
This example has been very well cared for and maintained. A packet of recent service and repair documents totaling approximately fifteen thousand dollars include brake work, overhauled transmission, air conditioning service, new tires, computerized alignment, clock, radio, tachometer cable, fluids and filters.
This SL is a fantastic running and driving example that you can get in, turn the key and enjoy.
1971 is the final year of production for the 280SL model. Quality and craftsmanship throughout.
