1957 Ford Thunderbird

This is a very striking 1957 Ford Thunderbird, 2-door coupe, painted in a great color combination of Willow Green with both a White convertible top and a Colonial White hardtop. The interior is a two-tone Green, so this car stands out. Powering this Bird is a 312ci.-245hp-V/8 engine, with a 4-barrel carb, mated to a Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. This Bird is fairly loaded with accessories, having power steering, a power seat, power windows, clock, Town and Country A/M radio, and A/C.

1957 was the first year of styling changes to the Thunderbird with a new, heavier bumper in the front, new grille, fins added to the rear, and a higher rear deck lid giving it a larger trunk. There were several other minor changes both inside and out, which contributed to a fairly extensive new look. This Bird had portholes in the hardtop, which about 75% of the Thunderbirds came with. Thunderbirds cost about $3,400 when new, and weighed about 3,299lbs. There were 21,380 Thunderbirds produced in 1957. Thunderbirds have come and gone, but none will compare to the original 1955-1957 Thunderbirds in cool 1950s styling.
